Jesus taught, to watch as we pray lest we fall into temptation. To open our eyes and ponder the path of our feet. To intelligently assess the situations before us and use the thoughts we have gathered in prayer. Sometimes, as we look at issues and re-examine the situations we are faced with, disturbing thoughts, arise indicating problem areas that must be covered with prayer. These things must not be taken for granted.
Without thinking over the situations you are praying about you might not get the full results of your prayers. Hastiness in action destroys the results of your prayers. There is more in the future of a fool than he that is hasty in judgment proverbs teaches.
Hastiness in making decision has aborted many seasons prepared by God for individuals. God hides light in pain. The scripture says every affliction would work out an eternal weight of glory in our lives if we focus not on the things that are seen but focus on the things that are not seen. There is definitely more to life than that which meets the eyes.
We need to learn to see with our mind what others miss with their eyes. John Rockefeller says "governments don't create a living for the people, opportunities that they see do" Joseph the 'father' of Jesus was going to put away Mary when he learnt of her pregnancy but the bible records that as he thought on these things he saw that it was of God.
His moral disposition was offended but he allowed his thoughts to run deep through praying before he acted. Imagine it. A man's fiancée goes on a 3month holiday at her cousin's place (Elisabeth was pregnant with John and Mary went over) and comes back pregnant. The first instinct would be to kick her out. This might be an extreme case but seasonally we are faced with situations that have an outward appearance which differs from its internal content and we must not be hasty in action.
Jesus taught that many through overeating, the use of alcohol and getting distracted by the elemental things of life cannot develop the concentration needed to have real deep thoughts about the situations around them, so miss the opportunities in them and end up trapped.
We need more people who understand that what prayer does is to first increase the intelligence of the one praying. It raises the levels of their thinking such that the stronger the mind gets the more successful the life would be.

Your natural intelligence working with your intuition.
Dennis Waitley in his book the ten seeds of greatness defined luck as .Labour.Under.Correct.Knowledge. He says those who are considered lucky are those who labour i.e work hard under the influence of accurate information. The information here would not only be in the form of natural intelligence but also that which is spiritual in nature. Natural intelligence is acquired through study,while the spiritual is imparted through our personal experiences. Successful living is a combination of faith and intelligence.
Real confidence when mixed with accurate knowledge produces results. The head must be made to work with the heart. Natural intelligence must work with your intuition, your inner instincts that determine the direction you take. Every great achievement is initiated in an individual while they are going through some form of test in their lives. He or she emerges not bitter,hating life but with a positive mental attitude, a vision for the future and with a heart filled with love for their fellowman. The challenge you face appears as a direct assault on the confidence you have developed right from your childhood days about your future. It threatens the expectations you have about life.
If handled wrongly it would weaken the enthusiasm you have about life and people and it would also establish a negative belief system in you. If we really understand the depth of the message Christ brought to humanity we would not weep or complain about our tests and trials neither would we live in perpetual heaviness. The real threat to our future are the elemental things of this world that distract. The cares of this life and the deceitfulness of riches that make us misplace our priorities.
Trials and tests that assault our confidence and heat up our lives are some of the best things that can happen to us. In every adversity lies a seed of equal and greater benefit. We must never be afraid of tests and trials. They should not intimidate us. We should receive them as opportunities from the Hand of our Sovereign Lord giving us the opportunity for inward development,expanded vision and growth.
There is really nothing 'negative' about the loss,pain and the other elements of 'death' these problem situations create around us. The solutions are there in the form of thoughts and they are accessible. What we should really be careful about is how we are going to invest and not waste the blessing that would come to us after the test. That is the greater challenge. Christ in giving man His understanding about life likened [in His parable of the kingdom]trials and troubles to the sun that arises over a seed that has been sown.
He said many would receive ideas about their future that would increase their level of enthusiasm about life. Concepts and dreams that would gladden them. No sooner would troubles arise for the sake of these concepts and dreams and then they get offended, misunderstanding the purpose of the tests and they allow their dreams wither away. The sun that can scorch with its heat primarily carries light for growth and development. The situations that cause some heat in our lives also carries light for our eyes. The vision for our future.
It is during these times that you can develop your intuitive facaulty. This would give power and direction to the information you have aquired naturally. Your intuition is that small still voice in your heart that you access through meditation.
You spend time meditating upon God's thoughts in the Word until quietness is established in your mind and a heavenly conversation of thoughts can begin. These thoughts are the power of your future.

Create associations and positive affinities
In order to grow, you must stretch yourself. You must learn to struggle against the tide until you overcome the threshold. One of the things we must learn to do is to create associations with people of positive affinities.
If we choose to learn from the progressive and positive people around us then we would grow. We would discover the right state of mind that attracts the best out of life and releases the fullness of our potential. We would see the attitude that wins, the language that works and the right approach. Every season of adversity can be changed if you would allow people with powerful positive affinities to gain entrance into your life.
Do not isolate yourself in times of crisis or choose to associate yourself with people who share the same defects as you and are therefore experiencing the same things, they would only reinforce everything that holds you back. There are people that attract happiness to themselves by their good cheer, natural buoyancy, intelligence and their forgiving attitude.
They are a source of pleasure and when you associate with them you share in the prosperity they draw upon themselves. Use the positive side of this emotional osmosis to your advantage. If for example, you are miserly by nature, you will never go beyond a certain limit, only generous souls attain greatness.
Associate with the generous, and they will infect you, opening up everything that is tight and restricted in you. If you are gloomy gravitate to the cheerful. Cheerful people are natural healers for a merry heart doeth good like medicine the bible says. "Recognize the fortunate so that you may choose their company, and the unfortunate so that you might avoid them.
Misfortune is usually the crime of folly, and among those who suffer from it there is no malady more contagious: Never open your door to the least of misfortunes, for if you do, many others would follow in its train................do not die of another's misery".
Create associations with positive affinities make this a rule of your life and you will benefit more than from all the therapy in the world.

Rediscovering the Essence of work.
Life does not consist of the abundance of things a man possesses, neither does it consist of the clothes you wear or the type of food you eat.
Those things are good and are actually blessings from God, but they don't in themselves represent the worth of human existence. Life consists of the opportunities that are presented to you in its seasons as you go through the cycles of your existence and the amount of relevant work you are able to accomplish that would be of benefit to humanity.
One dignifying thing that God gave to man at creation was the nature of his work. True life is work. Jesus said "my meat (the core of my existence) is to do the will of my Father which is to finish the work he has given me".
Man was created to work and to derive the pleasure of his existence in the type of work that he did. Work was a blessing from God and not a burdensome thing. When man fell through sin, God said to him, the ground is now cursed because of your sin, all your life you will struggle to scratch a living from it.
You will no longer find pleasure in your work. It will grow thorns and thistles unto you. The spiritual decline in humanity was reflected in his work place. Creativity and productivity slumped. Sin affected his work. Our perspective to work became a labourous necessary evil. From that day forward, the mind-set of humanity changed where we no longer found pleasure in working so we sought for pleasure through other media.
Lusts began to grow and to hold sway. Those who have found that the greatest pleasure a man can have is in the work he does, i.e. those who have found in their work what others are looking for by exploiting their lustful tendencies and the imaginations of their carnality, have discovered something close to what humanity lost at the garden of Eden.
These people have come into a natural flow of God's blessings that propels them to unfathomable heights. They take more pleasure in exploiting the creativity of their minds at work and conquering its challenges by fashioning out thought solutions, rather than in spending the material blessings that come through their labour. T
hose who have taken one step further by understanding that the greatest investment they can make with the material blessings they have received as the harvest of their labours and their creative service to humanity, is to give to the less privileged and to use their wealth to create opportunities for others to realise the fullness of their potential, would come into a joy full of glory.
Using the material blessings as an investment to create a platform for the wealth generated by their labour creates an inheritance of some sort within your family structure, hits the nail on the head. Wealth through work ought to be a generational blessing.
Discovering the mix in love and labour would restore man to his lost glory. If we remove labour from love, we are left with lust. We have got to understand the importance of work and its blessings. God instituted marriage in relation to work. Eve was created to be a help-mate.
A fellowship of minds at work. "It is on record that the men who have accumulated great fortunes and achieved outstanding recognition in literature, art, industry, architecture and the professions were motivated by the influence of a woman.
The research from which these discoveries were made went back through the pages of biography and history for more than two thousand years.

Let them help you.
One of America's most successful business man Lee Iacocca had this to say, "Look at my own career. I’ve seen a lot of guys who are smarter than I am and a lot who know more about cars (he was CEO of Chrysler motors).
And yet I've lost them in the smoke. Why because I'm tough? No you don't succeed for very long kicking people around... no, but because I have displayed an acute awareness and understanding of the human factor and of the notion of service." No matter what happens, one of the most dangerous paths to choose is the path of isolation.
Choosing the option of isolating oneself after experiencing unpleasant things always precedes decline and decay. Proverbs says "He that separeteth himself seeketh his own desire and rebels against all sound wisdom" Isolation is a sign that one is fighting a learning process in one's life. It is a known principle that those who can't get along with people and who are persuaded that everybody else is always wrong will never succeed.
Every worthwhile achievement requires strong leadership, but also organized effort. You can increase and multiply your effort if you allow more minds into your life. No man is an island. It is never good to be alone. Your thoughts and life patterns can never be balanced. A man of wisdom is not only a great thinker he is a man who recognizes the identity of the people God has planted around him or her for their own benefit.
You are surrounded by people who can be of great help, if you will recognize them. Nobody ever made a fatal mistake without somebody in their 'network' knowing intuitively that a wrong decision was about to be made. Treat your relationships as covenants, with integrity, respect and faithfulness and the laws of justice would work in your favour. Keep doing right and wrong relationships would die naturally.
Your integrity would expose 'ill-willed' people. One or two people might disappoint you, you will be betrayed by people of little virtue who are easily given to envy and easily intimidated but don't give up on Man for he is the Lord of the Sabbath i.e. 'your rest'.
I doubt if a person can really have the wisdom to handle men aright if he or she hasn't had his or her fingers burnt once or twice or known the pain of betrayal and unfaithfulness in one they trusted. Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860) once said, "money is never spent to so much advantage as when you have been cheated out of it; for at one stroke you have purchased prudence.”
This rule I believe is also applicable to your relationships. You purchase the prudence required through the pain you experience.

Your Season of Response.
It was Lee Iacocca (the man whom Bill Gates considers a powerful mentor in the American business industry, and who turned the fortunes of an enterprise from a negative spiral to a positive one), who said that the opportunities in life that would take you over, appear like ducks moving upon the waters, at a particular time they come within your shooting range and if you are not prepared before they appear then you will miss them.
One of his powerful keys was to know that the opportunities for change would come and to be ready or he won't even recognize them. Jesus and the entire scriptures teach by word and example that there are seasons when the opportunity to get something done comes your way. It comes within the range of your vision.
If you don't respond during that season, not only do you lose the opportunity, life gets more difficult for you thereafter. The Bible teaches that Life has a way of punishing those who neglect or waste their God given opportunities. It also says that if a man would humbly admit he threw away an opportunity God would give him a second chance. You have a season when you must act upon what you have seen or it will slip.
When concepts, ideas, or through meeting people the possibility of certain things happening for you becomes real, you have got to respond. God doesn't give us the material things we need on this earth directly.
What He does is to create opportunities and we, through the opportunities create a living for ourselves. Life has a rhythm and the seasons have a way of continuously coming i.e. a time to sow and a time to reap, one where you weep and then you laugh, the darkness and then light. It is in the time of weeping that you prepare for the 'new day' and you don't allow the pain of that season to blind you from the possibilities it is pregnant with. It is a time to sow. It is your seeds that qualify you for the harvest.
The seasons always come; it is just that people are not prepared and so they don't see them. Those whose darkness never turn to light, whose sorrows never become the reason for their joy, refuse to put the seed in, in the season of pain.
Their level of interaction with people is at the lowest. Expand your mind and know that the glory of the coming days would exceed the one that went before the darkness set in. You are the architect of the new day. Plan it in your heart; build the design in you and you would see the opportunities around you. The people that can help you to get it done would step into your life. Your first relationship with your future is with your words.
Capture the essence of your future with your words today. Make yourself thank God for the darkness with the attendant pain for without it there would be no tomorrow. Prepare yourself by developing a daily momentum within you through daily confessions (repeatedly speaking words to yourself about the emerging possibilities and events by reason of what you are facing today).
Help all those who come your way while you still might be in pain, distress or unsatisfied with your own life.
They are God-sent angels carrying the air of tomorrow's events. Don't isolate yourself, learn to like people, cultivate professional contacts, develop friendships, Build new allies and be in circulation.
Attend social functions. Relax and forgive. Read new books. People would count more in your road to the 'new day' than cash or ideas.

Desire
A burning desire to be and to do is the starting point from which every successful person must take off. Dreams are not born of indifference, laziness, or lack of ambition.
Remember that all who succeed in life get off to a bad start, and pass through many heartbreaking struggles before they "arrive." The turning point in the lives of those who succeed usually comes at the moment of some crisis. Through this they are introduced to the true man in them which is the hidden man of the heart."
"The heart of a man is the candle of the Lord……….." Proverbs. A strong desire is the firm anchor of the soul that guides it through the turbulence of life into the secret chambers of God where the treasures of life are unfolded. The biggest discovery one can make is coming to realize oneself. It is in seeing who you really are, knowing your assignment and learning to live out your deepest convictions.
We discover that we ‘suffered’ so much because in the first place we were neither true to our hearts nor its hunch. It is a great thing to know that whatever you compromise the nudging of your heart for, you would eventually loose. Whatever your heart is not at peace with would ultimately harm you.
It has become a very costly experience for many, when one follows the pattern of disobeying one’s heart to satisfy the pressure of relationships, social pressure which really is a desire to conform or to simply satisfy the momentary craving of the flesh. We will discover that those whose emotional feelings we were trying to satisfy or pacify when we disobeyed the voice of our hearts will eventually misunderstand our steps.
Had we simply followed the nudging of our hearts our actions would eventually have been made clear, seen as beneficial to all and probably strengthened the relationship. It is this discovery of the loyalty of one’s heart to our personal destinies that make us decide to live the rest of our days true to it, while maintaining healthy and peaceful relationships when possible. It has been a constant guide within us.
We commit ourselves to a true understanding of its desire, which does not infringe on the rights of others. We learn to feed it with God’s word by thoughtfully muttering scriptures to ourselves. We learn to empower it by praying its desires to God in the form of definite requests.
We pray when we see that the conditions in our lives make it almost impossible for its desires to come to pass. God in turn responds by developing it into our sixth sense, which constantly leads us into right places and connects us to the right people. We empower it with our words. A discovery of its deep desire would lead us to our life mission and purpose.

Developing grievances against friends, family, those in authority over you and eventually God would lead to seasons of darkness and slavery.
Blaming others for what you are going through would only make you a second rated citizen on the earth. Learn to take responsibility. Follow your heart.

Remember that all who succeed in life get off to a bad start, and pass through many heartbreaking struggles before they "arrive." The turning point in the lives of those who succeed usually comes at the moment of some crisis. Through this they are introduced to the true man in them which is the hidden man of the heart."
"The heart of a man is the candle of the Lord……….." Proverbs. A strong desire is the firm anchor of the soul that guides it through the turbulence of life into the secret chambers of God where the treasures of life are unfolded. The biggest discovery one can make is coming to realize oneself. It is in seeing who you really are, knowing your assignment and learning to live out your deepest convictions.
We discover that we ‘suffered’ so much because in the first place we were neither true to our hearts nor its hunch. It is a great thing to know that whatever you compromise the nudging of your heart for, you would eventually loose. Whatever your heart is not at peace with would ultimately harm you.
It has become a very costly experience for many, when one follows the pattern of disobeying one’s heart to satisfy the pressure of relationships, social pressure which really is a desire to conform or to simply satisfy the momentary craving of the flesh. We will discover that those whose emotional feelings we were trying to satisfy or pacify when we disobeyed the voice of our hearts will eventually misunderstand our steps.
Had we simply followed the nudging of our hearts our actions would eventually have been made clear, seen as beneficial to all and probably strengthened the relationship. It is this discovery of the loyalty of one’s heart to our personal destinies that make us decide to live the rest of our days true to it, while maintaining healthy and peaceful relationships when possible. It has been a constant guide within us.
We commit ourselves to a true understanding of its desire, which does not infringe on the rights of others. We learn to feed it with God’s word by thoughtfully muttering scriptures to ourselves. We learn to empower it by praying its desires to God in the form of definite requests.
We pray when we see that the conditions in our lives make it almost impossible for its desires to come to pass. God in turn responds by developing it into our sixth sense, which constantly leads us into right places and connects us to the right people. We empower it with our words. A discovery of its deep desire would lead us to our life mission and purpose.
